The Deportation of the Acadians

Scene image Supporting map

It is in 1750. You live with your family in the small agricultural village of Beaubassin, founded in 1671. Since the Treaty of Utrecht of 1713, Beaubassin is in British territory. However, because of the Treaty's unclear definition of Acadie's border, France and Great Britain are still disputing the territory north of the village of Beaubassin (today's New Brunswick). You will regularly experience the effects of the conflicts opposing the two empires, despite the fact that the village's men took an oath of neutrality.
