The Deportation represents a very important part of Acadian history, but also of Canada's colonial history. From 1755 to 1764, the majority of Acadians were deported to England, to the British colonies in America and to France, while others espaces into the woods or towards Québec. As exiles and fugitives started rebuilding their lives, some looked for a new homeland and others tried to return to Acadie.
